Segment Lead for team Microbiology and Fermentation
In my role as Segment Lead Microbiology & Fermentation, I am leading an ambitious team of experts on all aspects of microbiology. The team has expertise on biomass fermentation and probiotics production and optimization, but also on food fermentation of both traditional dairy, as well as new protein sources. Next to all these beneficial microbes that can promote health or make our food more tasty, we also have a lot of experience on food safety and quality and the microbes that we don’t want in our food. This last topic is also my personal passion and main expertise.
Next to my role as Segment Lead, I am also Senior Project Manager and expert in food microbiology and food safety. I have a broad experience, both from a food industry and academic perspective, in food safety, predictive food microbiology and food preservation. I am involved in many different projects related to food safety and quality. It’s great to work with so many different companies and help them with finding solutions to food safety and quality issues.
